Tetra Pak acquires cheese moulds manufacturer Laude

FBR Staff Writer Published 04 April 2016

Swedish food packaging company Tetra Pak has acquired Dutch cheese moulds manufacturer Laude for an undisclosed sum.

Laude designs, develops, and manufactures plastic moulds used in hard and semi-hard cheese production.

The acquisition will strengthen Tetra Pak's position as provider of complete solutions for cheese manufacturing and will also help expand the global reach for Laude's products.

Following the acquisition, Laude will become part of Tetra Pak Cheese and Powder Systems. The company will continue to function from its current location and Auke Rienks will continue to head Laude with the same management team.

Laude will also continue to focus on cheese moulding, along with designing and producing specialized plastic components that are used in cheese draining and forming equipment.

Tetra Pak Processing Systems executive VP Tim High said: "Laude has established a reputation for providing very high quality moulds and service to the cheese industry.

"We are delighted to add Laude products to our already comprehensive portfolio, and offer even more competitive cheese lines with guaranteed performance."

Laude managing director Auke Rienks said: "Our customers will continue to get market leading products and services from Laude. We see an exciting opportunity for international growth through Tetra Pak channels, particularly outside of Europe, where our focus has been in the past."

Laude statement added: "The driving force behind the acquisition is to complement Tetra Pak's portfolio of cheese production equipment and solutions - and to expand our resources and capabilities to serve our customers.

"The agreement with Tetra Pak enables Laude to extend its global reach and provide its services through Tetra Pak's sales channels in more than 170 countries around the world."
