JBT to acquire Stork Food & Dairy Systems for EUR47m

FBR Staff Writer Published 21 July 2015

Global food processing equipment manufacturer JBT has agreed to acquire filling and sterilization solutions provider Stork Food & Dairy Systems for EUR47m.

Based in the Netherlands, Stork Food & Dairy Systems produces and supplies integrated aseptic processing / sterilization and filling systems to the beverage and food processing industries.

Its equipments can be used to increase the shelf life of packaged foods such as white milk, flavored milk, coffee drinks, cream, yogurt, desserts, fruit juices, soups and sauces.

Stork Food's aseptic and thermal processing and filling technologies will complement JBT's Liquid Foods product portfolio.

JBT FoodTech executive vice president and president Steve Smith said: "This acquisition will significantly strengthen our ability to provide complete solutions to our customers in the global liquid foods industry."

As part of the acquisition, Stork Food's employees will be transferred to JBT.

Prior to this deal, JBT acquired food preservation equipment manufacturer ICS Solutions last year. The company is aiming for potential acquisitions to bolster its protein processing and liquid foods portfolios.
