Industrial Washing Machines introduces pan washers for food manufacturing applications

FBR Staff Writer Published 26 May 2015

UK-based Industrial Washing Machines (IWM) has introduced new weigh pan washers for the food industry.

Available in three models, the new weigh pan washers can be used in manufacturing plants, to sanitize pans after they have been used with food allergens such as nuts, seeds, soy, milk or dairy products.

The PW56 washer includes a hot pre-wash at between 50-55°C followed by a re-circulated detergent wash at the same temperature.

The washing chamber is equipped with IWM's motorised TravelJet system to ensure efficient cleaning of the weigh pans and ancillaries, while the smaller compact CW13 systems have rotary hot water detergent wash jets and a 85°C rinsing system.

The new washers has the capacity to wash up to 56 weigh pan / scale pan heads, along with radials and other accessories in two to 30 minutes depending on the level of soiling and the wash cycle selected, the company said.

An operator can select from a pre-programmed menu of up to seven different wash cycles.
