Dairy Crest to invest £5m in dairy facility in UK

FBR Staff Writer Published 08 April 2013

UK-based integrated dairy business Dairy Crest is set to invest £5m in its dairy in Dagenham, Chadwell Heath, UK in order to fund several improvement projects.

Following the shutdown of two diaries Liverpool and Cambridge in 2012, Dagenham site has been listed as a key dairy, reports bdpost.co.uk.

Currently, the dairy produces 400 million liters of milk annually. It employs around 384 workers.

Dairy Crest spokesman was quoted by the site as saying that the expenditure will be used in the modernization and enhancements of the plants on the site for the efficient functioning of the dairy.

This move showcases the company's commitment towards Chadwell Heath dairy, the spokesman added.

In addition, Dairy crest has secured a major supply contract from Sainsbury's supermarkets through to 2017.
